Every teen deserves to feel confident walking into their first day of school. But for many in foster care, that’s not always possible.

Sherae’s Style & Smile is a back-to-school shopping experience created just for foster teens in the Kansas City Metro. Through a generous annual $10,000 donation, 50 local teens receive $200 each to buy new clothes and shoes—so they can return to school feeling confident, comfortable, and seen.

This initiative was founded by Sherae Honeycutt, a former foster teen and Emmy-winning journalist who knows firsthand how powerful a little dignity and support can be.
